Cancun

Cancun, a city in southeastern Mexico, is a world renowned tourist destination, attracting more than 4 million visitors each year. Naomi Loomis and her family visited more than a decade ago, but still remember Cancun as one of their best vacations.

Naomi Loomis recommends several historic, family friendly activities for those vacationing in Cancun.

Cancun

Naomi Loomis and her kids explored some ancient ruins while vacationing in Cancun.

Chichen Itza

The Loomis family thoroughly enjoyed their day trip to Chichen Itza, where they were able to tour the ancient ruins of the Mayan Empire. Chichen Itza was once the capital of the Mayan Empire and has been designated as one of the modern wonders of the world. Its mystery and architectural beauty left Naomi Loomis in awe.

Cancun Dolphin Royal Swim

If you’re looking for a truly unforgettable experience, Naomi Loomis recommends The Royal Dolphin Swim. Right off the coast of Cancun, tourists become acquainted with two affectionate dolphins. After a handshake or kiss on the cheek, the dolphins allow you to hold their dorsal fins as they whisk you around on a speedy ride. According to tourists, this is one of the most exhilarating experiences Cancun has to offer.

Grutas de Calcehtok

These caves are one of the most intriguing natural formations and contain a surplus of artifacts, as well as human and animal remains. Archeologists have removed tools, quartz hammers, ceramic arrowheads and more that the Mayans left behind.

Naomi Loomis and her family opted for the adventure package, which involved belly crawling and rope descents. With this package, the family was able to see real human skeletons.

No Name Quesadillas

The Loomises had a memorable experience dining at a gourmet quesadilla restaurant with courtyard seating. Unique ingredients are available but sell out daily. The couple who owns No Name Quesadillas has been in the business for over five years, but still doesn’t plan on naming the restaurant. Naomi Loomis thought this added to the restaurant’s charm.
